Olay Regenerist Micro-sculpting Eye Cream & Lash Serum Duo Review

Saturday, April 27, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free product from Vocalpoint to try and review.  All opinions are my own.

As much as I hate to admit it, I am getting older.  I'll be 35 at the end of August.  I'm starting to see random grey hairs popping up and maybe the hint of some lines trying to form on my face.  For the first time, I find myself starting to pay a little more attention to my facial skincare regimen.

I'm careful with what I use to wash my face and trying to start washing my face morning and night.  I've started to use a cleansing lotion (astringent) and a moisturizer with SPF.  And for the first time, I've started to use eye cream.  I had a little sample from Mario Badescu that I was using for awhile until I ran out.  When I went to buy more, the cost was a little more than what I wanted to spend, so I bought a drugstore brand, hoping it would work as well.  Sadly, it didn't and actually caused the skin around my eyes to have some sort of reaction.  Gross.

So, I was pretty happy when I was given the opportunity to try the new Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Eye Cream & Lash Serum Duo.  After the disaster with the other drugstore brand, I was afraid to try anything else!  The Olay Lash Duo claims to help you achieve younger-looking eyes by softening the appearance of lines and giving you smoother-looking lids and instantly thicker-looking lashes -- both are benefits I could use!  Especially, the thicker-looking lashes.  Right now, they are pretty non-existent!

The Olay Lash Duo features a dual-ended applicator.  One side contains the eye cream, the other contains the lash serum.

Marc Jacobs DOT Girls Cocktail Party #MARCtheDOT

Thursday, April 25, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  As a member of The DOT Girls on Crowdtap, I was chosen to host a party to promote DOT by Marc Jacobs.  I received a party kit that included free samples and a free full sized bottle of the fragrance.  All opinions are my own.

I had been in the need of a new fragrance to wear for awhile.  I hadn't had any perfume to use in months.  So, sometime before Christmas last year, I was in Ulta looking for something to buy because I had reward points to spend.  There was a promo going on where if you spent at least $30 on any fragrance purchase, you got a free robe.  I decided to treat myself to something new.  I tried several different scents, including ones from Vera Wang (Lovestruck) and Philosophy (Falling In Love).  But, I kept going back to the DOT by Marc Jacobs bottle.  The bottle was so cute and the perfume smells so good!  I had sprayed my arm and kept sniffing it as I walked around the store.  Finally, I decided to go ahead and buy it.

DOT by Marc Jacobs has definitely become my favorite fragrance to use.  I wear it pretty much everyday.  Even if I'm not really going anywhere.  I just like to smell it on my skin and clothes.

It's a light scent.  It has top notes of red berries and coconut, with mild notes of jasmine and orange blossom and base notes of driftwood combined for a bold, feminine scent that's perfect for every occasion!

Recently, I was given the opportunity from Crowdtap.com to host a cocktail party to promote the DOT by Marc Jacobs fragrance.  I jumped at the chance to spend some time with my friends and family and share with them my new favorite scent!

Woolite Washed In-Home Boutique Party

Friday, April 5, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  As a member of Crowdtap, I was chosen to host a Woolite Washed In-Home Boutique party and given free samples of Woolite Everyday detergent to hand out.  All opinions are my own.

Admit it.  It happens all the time to a lot of us.  You go into your closet and there's absolutely nothing you want to wear!  But, you don't always want to go out and spend the money to buy something new to wear.  A great way to purge your closet of things you don't wear and at the same time get some new clothes would be to hold a clothing swap!  It gives you the opportunity to connect with friends and update your wardrobe for less!

I recently had the opportunity to host a clothing swap in my home thanks to Woolite and Crowdtap.com.  I was sent a party kit that included a clothing swap party guide with ideas on how to hold a successful clothing swap, a $10 VISA gift card to use towards party supplies and 10 samples of Woolite Everyday detergent to hand out to my guests.

Tom's of Maine Wicked Cool! Toothpaste Review

Wednesday, April 3, 2013

DISCLOSURE:  I received a free sample of Tom's of Maine Wicked Cool! Toothpaste to try and review from Smiley360.  All opinions are my own.

My husband and I have been on a mission to try and reduce the amount of processed and artificial foods we consume as a family.  We've started buying more natural and organic foods and cooking things from scratch, rather than turning to convenience products.  We've also started using cleaners with natural ingredients.  One area, though, where we haven't really bought many natural products have been with hygiene.  Often, we've found the natural products just don't work as well.

So, when I was given the chance to have my kids try out Tom's of Maine Wicked Cool! Toothpaste, I will have to admit I was a little skeptical.  For one thing, my kids are super picky.  There are definitely some oral care products (toothpaste, mouth rinses and floss picks) that my kids have decided that they didn't like to use because of the flavor.  And with natural products, I've found they don't always taste as good as other products with more artificial ingredients.

Tom's of Maine Wicked Cool! Toothpaste is made for kids ages 8 and up.  It's all natural and contains no artificial dyes, sweeteners or flavors.  Tom's of Maine products are not tested on animals and contain no animal ingredients.  It comes in a mild mint flavor for kids who have outgrown fruit or bubblegum flavors but find the mint flavor of adult toothpastes too strong.  It's ADA-Accepted to help prevent cavities, and it also strengthens enamel and freshens breath.
